Late last week, I took Josue with me to do some retail appointments. My goal was to test how he has improved during the last three weeks. His patience and calm personality has definitely paid off. He did a wonderful job removing a very hard dent near the edge.
This post is about Dan Ontrop’s last and big paintless dent repair he did. It was his last day and he wanted to test himself on what he learned from the previous weeks.
I have a specific and a solid way I teach my pdr students so they can break big dents down into smaller and more manageable repairs. It’s all about recognition after a pdr student understands the fundamentals of paintless dent repair. Recognizing high spots, crowns, knocking down, pin pointing and knowing how to finish will drastically improve the overall results of a pdr repair. Keeping your dent clean is the most important. If you have miss-pushes everywhere, the dent becomes unreadable and real chewy. A lost cause and then the frustration begins to build.
We are excited to mention our paintless dent repair training video (PDR Line Board 101) has been added to Amazon.com for just $34.99! Our easy to understand paintless dent repair instructional pdr video puts you in the driver seat when it comes to detail. Our unique camera shots with animated diagrams allows you to comprehend the pdr techniques without confusion. A step by step pdr tutorial narrated by myself, Myke Toledo.
I hope you get a chance to purchase this dvd and learn the line board and the basics of paintless dent repair. Every good training starts with a foundation and this dvd will not disappoint. Here is a video trailer regarding what you will see and learn.
Well I have been lately training Dan the art of paintless dent repair, soon to be (DanoDents.com). I am planning to video his first week progress, which I think will surprise most of you. Earlier today, I took a sharp knockdown and stabbed the panel and caused a very deep and sharp dent. If I told you he removed it out 100% I would be lying. But truthfully (only his 3rd day) he removed it about 85% without oil canning or cracking paint.
Removing such a deep dent involves a ton of patience, the right tools and accurate pin pointing. Dan is doing remarkably well. His background is a certified BMW mechanic with a knack for detail. A perfect candidate for learning paintless dent removal.
Please check back sometime next week and see how his progress is going. Please visit our official website for more info at www.denttime.com
How Long Does Paintless Dent Removal / Repair (PDR) Take To Learn?
The answer is.. your whole career. I’m not kidding either. Now I know that sounds contradicting since I train paintless dent removal on a professional level. Training someone how to learn pdr takes weeks to understand the technique but on the other hand, learning how to master pdr takes years.
