PDR is now PCR – Paintless Collision Removal

I don’t know why I can’t control my passion for PDR? I should say, “no” to a lot of the beyond the “normal” dents. Fortunately though it seemed to pay off. People these days are on a tighter budget and looking to save as much money as possible.

Most people want to only fix their cars if they have to or it’s too obvious to live with. That’s why I believe our trade is raising the bar about paintless dent removal. PDR is now getting into the Paintless “Collision” Removal a.k.a. PCR.

I have a few reasons for doing big dents. Obviously the first reason is the money. But what really drives me to do bigger dents is the self satisfaction. Knowing I can do the big dents and finish… And it pays off.

New PDR Episode – Crease Repair w/ SOS Dent

Here is my latest video to date. It was actually filmed over a year ago but as many of you know, I get very busy with other projects. Running a full paintless dent removal and bumper repair company in San Diego takes much time.

I can’t always make excuses though. My main reason why it takes me a lot of time is because I want a real meaning behind my videos. This video to me is educational towards the PDR tech and consumer. It’s actually quite long for a Youtube video but I think it holds the interest of the viewer. If you would like to see more videos of my work and projects, visit my Youtube channel.

I went out and visited David Pelikan from SOSDent.com in Los Angeles. He owns and operates a full service Auto Body Shop and PDR company in Santa Monica. I filmed David as he removes this very long crease on a Toyota Camry.

I went to their work in Carlsbad, Ca. and this dent repair took about an hour and a half to remove. With careful skill and slow pushes, I was able to remove this dent successfully. The only evidence was the scuff mark which can be removed with a high speed buffer. Here is a small explanation about how I tackled it.

New PDR Training Video Coming Next Week

I have been for awhile gathering material and creating a new manual to go along with it. It’s called “deep ding removal.”

We all know when it comes to being successful at PDR, you have to know how to finish. Sure big dents are impressive but big dents usually have deep center pits. Learning how to finish will be the key.

This new video is sure to help you understand what tools and what techniques will ensure your success.

I will be launching this new video by June 5th.

Ferrari Dent Repair.

When it comes to vintage high line cars, it can be somewhat of a challenge. Usually access is good but the strength of the metal can be stronger. Sometimes just the undercoating like this 1967 Ferrari 330.
